Private Alexei Snegov decided not to shoot. This choice precipitates a series of events that lead Alexei to the remote scientific base of Tiksi, in northern Russia. Against the backdrop of war, the soldier discovers Professor Zorko's advanced theories and finds himself compelled to participate in his experiments.
